How to design a pump for WILO that stands out from existing market products with distinctive features to create differentiation, while emphasizing user interaction to build strong user perception and enhance brand image—these were the challenges we faced.
Research & Insights
Through research, we identified that traditional pumps often suffer from installation difficulties, lack of post-installation calibration flexibility, imprecise operational control, and poor user experience. Additionally, most products lack differentiation in their appearance and distinctive characteristics.
Solution
We shaped PICO’s clean and compact silhouette using simple geometric forms. By arranging internal components in a compact and centralized structure and combining multiple materials, we achieved both durability and lightweight design. We redefined PICO’s interaction method by highlighting the screen area with curved surfaces and introducing a prominent, unique knob for operation. A clean and user-friendly app further elevates the overall user experience.
Results & Impact
The meticulously designed practical concept and PICO’s distinctive, compact, and iconic appearance have left a lasting impression, earning accolades such as the Red Dot Award.
