HIGOLD Family Grill Station

This multifunctional family grill station integrates preparation, washing, cooking, heat retention, and exhaust fumes into a compact unit. A family can gather around the grill station, enjoying the endless fun of cooking and sharing a barbecue together.

Challenges

In conceptualizing the family grill station, we needed to research and analyze every step of a family barbecue while aligning with the specific needs and characteristics of home grilling scenarios. The goal was to redefine an entirely new product usage experience.

Research & Insights

Through data-driven research, we identified that existing family barbecue products on the market suffer from cumbersome processes. Each step of the grilling process required separate devices, resulting in fragmented and scattered usage. By mapping the grilling workflow and scenarios, we aimed to create a seamless and intuitive user experience.

Solution

The final design positions the grill station centered on the kitchen sink. Through research and iterative design, we determined that the sink serves as the optimal central platform for balancing user interaction and product size. The sink is divided into a cross-sectional layout: vertically, the left side accommodates the sink and seasoning area, while the right side houses the grilling zone. Horizontally, a functional platform is raised to unify the faucet, exhaust hood, and storage surface. Prepared ingredients and finished dishes can be quickly placed on the platform’s top for easy access. Simultaneously, this platform creates two distinct work zones: the front integrates the sink and grill for seamless preparation and cooking, while the rear connects the seasoning area and grill for effortless seasoning and serving. This setup allows family members to gather comfortably on either side of the grill station, enjoying conversation and shared meals.

Results & Impact

The Family Grill Station established a new product category for the brand, strengthening HIGOLD’s market identity and visibility. The highly recognizable product series deepened consumer brand awareness, while the design also instilled immense confidence in the R&D and sales teams. With certainty in its market potential, the product’s post-launch sales performance is anticipated to be robust.
